Books We're Reading

I admit. when I'm feeling compulsive, I arrange books by height. And the baskets below offer quick peace
I don't consider myself an avid reader, although I wish I did. Despite this, books are a big part of Louisa's day. We read three books before naps and three before bed and she really listens. If she asks for books at other times during the day, I really try to make myself stop and read. It's also fun to have a library within walking distance of our house, because as any parent knows, bad books get old after the tenth or twentieth reading. So this new page is dedicated to particularly fun/cute/sweet library books that I loved reading to Louisa, even after the seventh or seventeenth reading. Hopefully Cora will learn to love books too. If she is awake during our daily readings, she generally holds her own board book and chews it.

  1. I'm not sure if Louisa is ready for this yet...but she may be soon. The Magic Treehouse is a great series for kids. Chailah loved these stories and has the series which consists of over 50 books I believe. They are great because there are many stories with historical facts included in the adventures. Alicia, these are actually very good stories that I think you may REALLY enjoy. Chailah and I just finished The Witch of Blackbird Pond! It is not at all what you would think! I like stories like this. I ordered it for Chailah since she is on her scary story binge. She loved it, and it wasn't scary at all! I ended up finishing it before she did...very good story! Also, the series, Merlin: The Lost Years (Very good series if you and Nate love the famous wizard as much as we do. I think you'd both get some good laughs and be very entertained!) Toodles.....
