Bentonville, Arkansas

Last week we spent the kids' spring break in Bentonville, Arkansas. Seems random, but once you've visited, you'll understand! I think if you work at Trek and have kids and mountain bikes, this place is kind of a must-visit.

We, I mean Nate, loaded up the car as the late-March snow fell in Madison. It was a five hour drive to St. Louis, where we spent two nights and saw some great sites. We stop at the three-state spot to say we stepped foot in Oklahoma and Kansas despite not doing anything in these states. Upon checking into our AirBnB in Bentonville, we were all immediately impressed. Cider and the kids had a fenced in back yard with a rope swing, Nate and I had a fully-equipped kitchen and washer & dryer (mud would fly off our tires!), and it was 2 blocks from a lively yet quaint downtown square and great biking trails.

The weather could have been better, but thankfully Bentonville has some great museums for rainy days: the Amazeum and Crystal Bridges. And the rain/snow made the sunny and warm days that much more appreciated by all. On the way home we stopped in Chicago to see Georgia, Pat, and Walter and to see some LEGO art and other exhibits at the Museum of Science and Industry. As you'll see, we ended a great trip with a live podcast show, Wow in the World. Words can only share so much, so today I spent too much time putting together a video to remember our trip. I learned a few years ago that we all should do something everyday that can't be undone, so that was my something for today :)
